Contour
Your job, reshaped by you.
Lay out the tasks that make up a role, decide where AI can help with each one, and see the new shape of the work. About twenty minutes for one role, and the first role is free.
Describe the job, not a person. Leave out names, and anything about anyone’s health. The job title and description are sent to Anthropic to draft the tasks; nothing you enter is kept. See the privacy notice.
Describe the role
Use the job as it is done today, not as the posting describes it.
Check the task list
Fix the wording and the hours until they match a real week. The hours should add up to the role.

Decide where AI can help
- Stays with you
- The person does it, as now.
- AI drafts, you decide
- AI produces a first version; the person checks it and owns the result.
- AI does the routine, you check
- AI does the routine part; the person reviews a sample and stays responsible.
Each task has a suggestion and the reason for it. You decide. Decisions about a person, legal or medical calls, and relationship work always start with you.
The new shape of the role
0
hours a week come back to the role, most likely. The evidence supports a range of hours. That is time for the work only a person can do. The job stays; its shape changes.

- Time back to the role
The core that stays with you
Work that changes shape
New tasks the role takes on
- Checking AI drafts for errors before they are relied on
- Keeping a record of what AI produced and what was changed
- Knowing when not to use AI on a piece of work

How Contour works
The tasks start from O*NET, the US Department of Labor’s database of what people in about 900 occupations actually do. Claude drafts the role’s tasks from the closest occupations and your description, and suggests how AI could change each one. You edit and decide everything.
The hours come from the time you give each task and from published studies of how much time AI saves. Each kind of task carries a range, never a single number:
| Kind of task | Low | Most likely | High | Based on |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI drafts, you decide | 10% | 25% | 40% | Support agents in the field, 15% (Brynjolfsson, Li & Raymond, 2025) · consultants, 25% faster (Dell’Acqua et al., 2023) · writing tasks, 40% less time (Noy & Zhang, 2023) |
| AI does the routine, you check | 30% | 50% | 70% | Lower confidence. No controlled study yet measures routine work done by AI and checked by a person, so the range is set wide. |
| Stays with you | 0% | 0% | 0% | — |
Studies of whole jobs find much smaller savings than studies of single tasks, because time saved leaks into checking and new work. If a role’s estimate passes a quarter of its hours, Contour says so.
Checking time is already counted in the ranges. Tasks marked “Caution” can get slower or less accurate with AI, so their low end is 0%. Most of the evidence is from the US, from 2023–2025 AI tools, and from writing, coding and support work.
